The Didactic Working Group School – University Physics (DASU-Physik for short) is an event format that has been promoting exchange between teachers at Leibniz University Hannover and schools since 2016.
Three characteristics are important here: 1. The event is open to the public, free of charge and invitations are sent out widely. 2. There are at least two perspectives on a topic in physics teaching, represented by selected, invited speakers. Ideally, one representative is from the school system and the other from the university environment. 3. There should be an intensive exchange between the speakers and the audience. To this end, there is the opportunity to ask questions directly about the presentations and, above all, to engage in informal discussions before, during the coffee break and after the event.
The Lower Saxony State School Authority, the Lower Saxony Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs and a group of advisors consisting of specialist advisors, teachers and subject leaders are also involved in this joint project. Since 2017, DASU Physics has been funded by the German Physical Society (DPG) as DPG teacher discussions on site.
