Digital teaching and learning in physics (BMBF - Qualitätsoffensive Lehrerbildung)

Project description

Sub-project: Quality Offensive Teacher Training: Leibniz Principle

The Leibniz Principle project is being implemented at Leibniz University Hannover as part of the teacher training quality campaign (funding code 01JA1806). The physics didactics working group is involved in field of action 2: Modern learning formats - digital, reflexive, didactically structured. In addition to the target group-orientated support of face-to-face and self-study phases (e.g. flipped classroom, here is a link to the flipped classroom project), the focus is on the reflective handling of students' teaching and learning experiences as well as didactically supported experiences of digital teaching. In a longitudinal study, the development of student teachers' attitudes towards digital teaching media in the subject of physics will also be analysed.

Sub-project - media skills

The project of the physics didactics working group is investigating the subject-specific media skills of prospective teachers. To this end, students realise individual units with digital teaching media as part of their practical training in the subject of physics. During the preparatory seminar, a focus is placed on digital teaching media specifically for use in physics lessons, thus providing students with the necessary theoretical foundations. Students reflect on their experiences with digital teaching in their work placement report.

To take a closer look at the use of digital teaching media by prospective physics teachers, accompanying case studies will be conducted. The focus here is on concrete lesson planning and subsequent reflection as well as observation of the corresponding lesson in interviews.
